"What a beautiful lake! we landed forty fish between us, ten over 40lb five over 50lb and the rest were mostly over 30lb."
Set in sixteen acres of picturesque Limousin countryside renowned for its long hot summers, this stunning seven-acre Pre-Napoleonic lake nestled amongst woodland and meadows is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We offer drive and survive French carp fishing holidays for like-minded anglers that enjoy nature in peaceful surroundings.
The lake, situated close to the tiny hamlet of Seuil can be hired out exclusively for group bookings of up to five anglers from the same party. Everything you need while on your carp fishing holiday can be found within a fifteen-minute drive of the lake, the market town of Bellac offers supermarkets, petrol stations, restaurants, and a large fishing tackle shop. The closest ferry terminal is Caen around 5hrs away, Limoges airport is a twenty-five-minute drive.
Redwood lake dates back to the 18th century and features on the Cassini map which is the earliest mapping recorded in France. This stunning Pre-Napoleonic seven-acre lake is nestled amongst sixteen acres of secluded woodland and fern meadows in the tiny hamlet of Seuil.
The lake varies in depth from three to ten feet at the dam end, plenty of hard spots can be found all over the lake, especially on the far margins, the lake is partly surrounded by forest containing beautiful old Oak, Chestnut, Pine, and Silver Birch trees with an abundance of wildlife.
The lake contains around one hundred and eighty Carp, mostly young fast-growing fish with an average size currently around 35lb, the new lake record now stands at 57lb 4oz, due to the lake having never been a commercial fishery before there is still a few fish yet to be caught, one or two of these fish we believe will break the current lake record.
Perfectly situated in the heart of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region renowned for long hot summers and extended growing seasons we are expecting to see more incredible growth rates over the next few years, over 15lb growth in a year is just becoming normal now for some of our younger fish.
Currently, we offer a drive and survive only, we provide all anglers with the basic facilities needed during your stay. Solar provides power for the fridge, lighting, multiple USB charging points, etc. There is also a flushing toilet, wash basin, and hot showers heated by a gas boiler.
Should you wish to take a break from fishing there is a covered outdoor area with benches and a large table for all guests, this area also has a brick barbecue.
We will be operating a drive-and-survive lake exclusive only for five anglers, there are ten comfortable grass-lined swims to choose from.
All bookings require a £300 deposit to confirm the requested dates. The remaining balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
